Australia is one of the dream Immigration countries for several people from all over the world. They come from all walks of life including students, working professionals, partner/ spouse or parents, dependent kids, Business Investors, Tourists and many more. There are various visa classes and sub- classes for each of these purposes.
Like many other countries, Australia also has a points – based selection system. This is an electronic method to enter details while the person is not in the country also. The points are given on various factors including age, educational qualifications,Employer Nomination, Provincial Nomination, work experience and skills, language proficiency, etc. There is a minimum that a visa aspirant has to score.
However, the good news is that if there are left over points that you cannot score, it may be that your Australia Partner Spouse Skills Assessment can make up the points on SkillSelect. The points are alloted in a way to give a chance for your spouse to score points on most of the sections. It is best to know this points allotment on the electronic scoring system for Australia. 1) Age: 18 – 45 (each age group has got specific point score).
2) Language Competency:
- IELTS 6.0 bands in all categories (Listening, Reading Speaking & Writing) : 0 points
- IELTS 7.0 – 8 or more bands in all categories for Proficient Level: 10 – 20 points
Note: - Test results must be submitted prior to the application if language proficiency is ‘Competent’ or ‘Vocational’.

There are various other categories by which you can earn points. However, the minimum score requirement on SkillSelect is generally 60 points. The factors listed above are the main factors where you earn points. Out of this there are some of the points that are alloted towards the accompanying spouse/ partner.
